Description
The PhD in Geography aims to foster the capacity for research practice and autonomous production of a research project in specific branches of geographic knowledge, achieving the following objectives:
a) Use conceptual and methodological frameworks that contribute to the strengthening of the interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary field of Geography, based on a precise research object, applying them to original and relevant research;
b) Contribute critically to the analysis and discussion of issues related to the domain of Geography in academic and professional contexts;
c) Identify and interpret scientific-technological, environmental, cultural, social, economic and political problems, as well as those related to planning and territorial management;
f) Contribute to the process of innovation in the conceptual and applied knowledge field of geographic science.
Access to higher education
Completion of this doctoral course enables the pursuit of research activities at postdoctoral level.
