Description


The Master Degree in Archaeology at the University Minho represents a learning process in this field, emerged from the need to structure additional training given to the graduation who has an essentially generalist vocation. Thus, the course aims to achieve the following objectives:
- In depth knowledge and skills of understanding, regarding to the training received in the graduation within the archeology and related fields, in order to enable trainees to exercise research tasks, planning and management of archaeological activity.
- Promoting new skills to apply and understanding knowledge, to solve problems, to deal with complex issues, to make judgments on critical matters to ethical and social implications, and to communicate complex information in different formats and for different audiences.
- To develop professional skills that enable students to the full exercise of archaeological activity and to practice autonomously and responsibly the job of an archaeologist.

This Master degree provides basic training to carry out a course of 3rd cycle (PhD) in the same scientific area, or other areas

Formal requirements


Candidates holding the following Bachelor's degrees can aply to the Masters:
- Archaeology, History, Anthropology and Architecture;
- Foreigner Bachelor's degree in the same scientific areas, organised according the Bologna process;
- Foreigner Bachelor's degree in the same areas and recognised as so by the Instituto de Ciências Sociais Scientific Council.
Abnormally and in justified situations candidates holding a relevant scientific or professional curriculum in other areas will be allowed to aply to the Masters.
