Description


The overall aims established for the Archaeology Under-graduation are:
- Enable a solid base formation in Archaeology, one that includes updated knowledge and the development of the ability to fully understand it, namely its articulation with several scientific disciplines;
- Provide the acquisition of skills required to the practical application of gained knowledge, namely through the use of the new information technologies and the ability to understand and develop critical thought required by professional practices;
- Prompt the acquisition and ability to apply a wide range of other skills, which may assume relevance in a varied set of professional conditions / contexts, notably in the areas of personal interaction, communication and interest in continuing learning.

Access to higher education


This course provides the technical and scientific capacity to access the courses of the second cycle (Master)

Careers


Archaeology graduates will present a wide and diverse formation that consists of both a strong practical component as well as a theoretical one, that will enable them to work in various domains related to the archeology practice, particularly in local and central government agencies (in the areas of research, preservation and heritage management), museums, private companies specialized in archeology intervention and related to cultural industries, teaching activities (technical or university) or in professional archaeological practice.
